Figures may be out of date. Data is retrieved from third-party APIs and cached for performance. Seat counts, party affiliations, votes and bill statuses can lag official records, and by-elections or floor crossings may not appear immediately. Always confirm against the official source before relying on a figure.
“Participation” is not attendance. Neither the House of Commons nor any province publishes an official attendance record. MP participation shown here is a derived measure — recorded divisions in which the member cast a ballot, divided by divisions held during their tenure in the current session. Paired absences, committee work, parliamentary duty travel and approved leave are not distinguishable in the source data. Census “participation rate” is a separate labour-force statistic.
Census caveats. Demographic figures are 2021 Census of Population values (income reference year 2020) aggregated to the 2023 Representation Order districts. Statistics Canada applies random rounding and suppression, so small counts are approximate and some values are unavailable. Provincial and municipal coverage is directory-level only: no province, territory or municipality publishes an open machine-readable feed of votes, attendance or bills, so those panels are federal-only.
